50 anos da Tropicália
visual identity + book design
Tropicália was a cultural movement led by musician and artists in Brasil in the late 1960s. It revolutionized popular art by promoting the incorporation and amalgamation of foreign styles and traditions into brazilian culture. Students at ESDI organised a series of open-air public lectures discussing the movement’s contribution to design and other disciplines, 50 years later.
Each lecture was recorded and published as a book, printed in the university's self-managed crowd-sourced printshop. I designed the books and the visual identity for these lectures, capturing the essence of the movement by remixing iconic artworks and inserting them within the university grounds.
